About Me
Hello, I’m Sarah, a qualified Human and Canine Bowen practitioner, Associate Member of the Bowen Therapy Professional Association (BTPA) and Full Member of the Canine Bowen Technique Association (CBTA).
I take a gentle, consent-based approach that respects the individuality of each person and dog I work with. My focus is on supporting the body’s natural balance and creating conditions where comfort and ease of movement are encouraged.
Before training in Bowen Therapy, I worked for over ten years as a study skills tutor, supporting university students with ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences. As a neurodivergent practitioner myself, I bring that understanding into my Bowen work. I recognise that everyone’s nervous system and sensory experience are different, so I aim to create a calm, adaptable environment where each person feels at ease and supported in their own way.
My background in neurodiversity also shapes the way I work with dogs. Understanding sensory sensitivity, emotional regulation, and communication differences helps me recognise when an animal needs more time, space, or choice. I place great importance on consent and comfort, allowing each dog to feel safe and ready to engage at their own pace. This respectful, low-pressure approach forms the foundation of every session.
I also trained in Canine Behaviour Counselling with Sheila Harper and Learning Animals in Italy, which deepened my understanding of communication, trust, and emotional wellbeing. These principles guide my work with dogs and their people, helping to create a calm, supportive environment for both.
Whether in my Elvanfoot or Moffat clinics, my aim is to provide a welcoming, peaceful space where human and canine clients can feel more at ease and move with greater comfort.
